It’s october. I’ve just realized my astounding talent for a capoeira move: the queada de quatro (again: spelling???). Basically, the one that most resembles falling on your rear end.

Meh. You should have seen me at my batizado. I had no idea how to do a meia lua. I don’t even remember how I got taken down–I think I just fell over, actually. XD And here I am, a year and a half later, and a yellow-white belt. Batizadoes are not designed to make beginners look good, unfortunately. But one lives through them.
When is your batizado, BTW? Ours is in the spring…maybe someone from your group will come visit sometime!

That comforts me a bit. I try, but somehow I can’t keep my legs stretched out. And I spent ages trying to figure out this one kick which I can’t spell where I kept losing my balance.

Yeah, same here. I’m very not-flexible, and my leg just won’t go up enough to get around. I usually end up dropping my foot on the other person’s head. XD

Yeah…..we’ll get it eventually. XD And in the meantime, one can always do ponteira. Ponteira is one of my favorite kicks, because I can do it without falling over.
It’s an okay martelo substitute, because at least it’s a straight kick. (Though I’m not sure half the time whether I’m doing ponteira or bencao….my body doesn’t understand the difference.)
